Dr. Douglas Tsuchida has provided care for patients in the Houston area as a Board Certified Family Practice Physician for more than thirty-four years.

    His gentle manner and nurturing style have encouraged three generations of Houston families; including parents, children and their children, to rely on him for medical treatment, trusting in his excellent diagnostic skills and his “old fashioned” approach to patient care.

    Dr. Tsuchida’s years of experience as an Emergency Room Physician enable him to assess the critical needs of his patients and provide the means for him to perform minor surgeries in his well-equipped surgical suite.

    An additional aspect of Dr. Tsuchida’s training includes his certification by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada in 1977.

    In the years since, he has had enormous success in utilizing medical acupuncture for pain management.

    Dr. Douglas Tsuchida and his wife, Marsha, have been married for forty-two years, are the parents of two daughters and have two grandchildren.

   For more than twenty-five years, Dr. Tsuchida has received recognition as an outstanding instructor in the Department of Family Practice at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston where he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor.

   Dr. Tsuchida very much enjoys teaching and takes fourth year medical students into his office as part of their Family Practice rotation.

   He is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, Harris County Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Texas Medical Association.

   He also belongs to the American Medical Association, the World Organization of Family and General Practitioners, the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, and the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
